PrEP Research Opportunity

Hello! I am reaching out on behalf of a research team at Columbia University's HIV Center. Our team is working to learn more about nurses’ experiences providing PrEP counseling to their patients. The goal of our work is to optimize forthcoming PrEP products, such as injectable cabotegravir (CAB-LA), for use by transgender women.

Right now, we’re recruiting US-based RNs who have provided PrEP services (counseling, education, etc.) to at least one transgender woman in the last 6 months. All nurses are eligible (RNs, APRNS, CNS, etc.) and we are especially interested in hearing from nurses who are not APRNs. Previous knowledge about CAB-LA is not required.

Interviews would occur via videoconferencing software (e.g., Zoom) or over the phone, take no more than 35 minutes of your time and would come with a modest incentive of $50 (Amazon e-gift card). The interview would cover topics such as your knowledge and perceptions of CAB-LA, opinions on potential alternative delivery protocols for this product, and potential ideas on how to improve patient/provider communication on this topic with gender non-conforming folks.

If you are interested in learning more, please reach out to me! Thank you for considering our study, I look forward to hearing from you.
